Ga Mong (Gah-Mong) People of China
* MUCH MORE about this people group at the JOSHUA PROJECT
No Bible, no JESUS Film, no gospel recordings, no Christian broadcasts, not one known believer in Jesus ! This is the environment in which 54,000 unreached Ga Mong people live in southern China.
They speak their own language and have their own customs and festivals, which are different from all other people in the area. Every year on October 18, they stage bullfights and cockfights and have a massive community feast. The Ga Mongs date their history back to 960 A.D. During the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Ga Mongs were valiant warriors and a powerful group.
Ancestor worship is the most popular form of religious practice. Each home has an altar to the family’s ancestors. Several times each year, the Ga Mong place food and drink on the altar to ensure that their ancestors will have enough food in the next life. They consider behavior that may displease or dishonor their ancestors to be a grave offense.

Pray for every resource to be available for these people to hear and respond to Jesus. Pray for workers to live among, and learn the Ga Mong language, teaching as Jesus did while He was on earth. Pray that they will come to know that the only person worthy of worship is Jesus Christ.-JWS
| | Rev. 5:5 |
"Then one of the elders said to me, ’Do not weep ! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.’"
Many scholars have identified the "scroll" as the "title deed to rule the earth." By virtue of His death and resurrection, Jesus has already gained victory over the god of this world. How we rejoice in this victory ! Now we must remember that missionary outreach to frontier people groups is an operation to consolidate the gains already won in previous battles. "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me," Jesus said in challenging His disciples. "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations."
