African Pastor Zacharias Tanee Fomum Dies

Monday 16 March 2009

Visiter CHRETIENS EN RESEAU

The Fomum Family, Bro Joe Mbafor and the board of Elders in Yaounde announce with deep regrets the sudden departure of our Beloved Father and Spiritual Leader Zacharias Tanee Fomum on Saturday 14th March 2009 at CHU Yaounde at 4pm.

We give all the glory and honour and praise and thanksgiving to the Lord Jesus Christ whom Brother Zach served wholeheartedly. This Home-going of our beloved Brother comes just after the overthrow of satanics princes he was wrestling against.

Brother Zach has fought the good fight of faith right to the very end. He has finished his course. He has won the race.

We who loved him must demonstrate it now by pursuing his vision, pressing on with the goal so that at the sound of the trumpet there will be one billion disciples in 250 nations, in six continents who rendered total obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Joseph T. Mbafor

On behalf of the Fomum Family and the board of Elders Yaounde.

Biography

Professor Zacharias Tanee Fomum is minister of the Word and a scientist.

Born in 1945 in Cameroon, Africa, he received his early education there. He was born again in 1956 as he read a tract: ”Someone died for You” Pr. Fomum consecrated his life to Jesus Christ in 1966, after Christ revealed Himself as Lord to the young student in his university room. He is the founder and director of Christian missionary fellowship international (CMFI).

Pr. Fomum combines the teaching of organic chemistry at the University of Yaounde Cameroon West Africa, with the spiritual ministry of teaching the word in many countries. He is a prolific teacher and writer. He has written over 100 scientific publications in international journals and over 100 books on Christian discipleship, growth, and maturity, with special emphasis on prayer and fasting, which he believes to be the most vital needs, tools and weapons of the church today. Some of his books have been translated into other languages including French, Thamil, Telegu and Hindi. He searches out facts and presents them in a teachable format. Pr. Fomum practices what he teaches as do churches associated with Christian Missionary Fellowship International.

He considers prayer the most important work on earth and has preached the gospel in over 50 countries in Africa, South America, Asia, Europe and USA, as well as started a national movement of prayer and fasting in his own country. Pr. Fomum is the leader of a missionary movement (Christian Missionary Fellowship International) with missionaries and churches in 50 nations on 6 continents.

He and his wife, Prisca, have six children, all of whom have received the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Daddy, with all my love, I don’t know what to say May God just do as he wishes. your message was: "the goal of your life, holiness, and the goal of your life)" I have heart you. I will follow the goal of my life and serve God with all my strengh as you did.

Love you Daddy, you know that and love you very much

May God be a comforter to all your family. I saw them crying and I was crying too but I know God will comfort us all

Dady ran his race and finished his course. I knew him before and after he was became the prolific preacher and international researcher. His passion for Christ never waivered from the day I met him. He led me to Christ, he taught me the word of God through his life. He was the closest and best example of holiness that I could see humanly. He lived serving God and died doing the same.He isnow with the cloud of witnesses looking to see if we run our own race. We will not sit back and cry. We will fight the good fight and run the race that is set before us. Be encouraged. Daniel PEFOK (USA)
